Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 797: Chapter 798 I Almost Forget What You Look Like

Tang Qing saw his grandfather staring at a young girl in front of him and couldn’t help but stop.

”Grandpa, do you know her?” he pointed to Chiang Xiao.

Old Tang had only met Chiang Xiao once, and that was nearly a year ago. Moreover, at that time he hadn’t paid much attention to Chiang Xiao, as Meng Xinian had dragged her away before he could get a good look. So now, seeing Chiang Xiao, he just felt she looked familiar but wasn’t certain it was her.

Besides, he didn’t think it was likely for Chiang Xiao to appear in City J.

”Ah Qing, it’s that girl who makes tea snacks, the one Old Meng is secretly protective about, insisting that she’s his granddaughter-in-law!”

”Big Brother Meng’s little fiancée?”

Tang Qing immediately looked at the young girl walking toward the hotel registration desk with Xi Guoyou with both curiosity and surprise.

”I’m not too sure, I can’t quite remember clearly, girls grow up so fast.” Old Tang thought for a moment and then a lightbulb went off, he cleared his throat, and raised his voice to call out, ”Meng Xinian!”

Chiang Xiao instantly stopped and turned her head.

Old Tang couldn’t help but chuckle with glee, ”Haha, indeed effective!”

Tang Qing: ”...”

Could he say he didn’t know this old man?

It felt so childish.

Old Tang was already waving his hand and greeting Chiang Xiao, ”Girl, girl, come here, do you remember me?”

Chiang Xiao recognized Old Tang instantly.

She said a few words to Xi Guoyou, who looked over at Old Tang and Tang Qing, nodded, ”I’ll go back first then. Xiao Chiang, if there’s anything, just call me, you’ve got the number, right?”

”Yes, it’s already noted down, thank you, Mr. Xi.”

After Xi Guoyou left, Chiang Xiao walked towards Old Tang. She didn’t know Tang Qing but guessed that this was probably him.

Thinking back to when she was in the Capital City and how Old Tang had tried hard to sell his grandson to her, and recalling Meng Xinian’s black face at that time, Chiang Xiao suddenly felt a bit annoyed.

Tyrant Meng, I’ve met someone trying to snatch your fiancée again, and I’m almost forgetting what you look like!

”Old Tang, what a coincidence?”

”Yes, indeed, girl. Look at this, isn’t it fate? Come here, come here, let me introduce you, this is my grandson, called Tang Qing, eighteen this year! Ah Qing, this is Xiao Chiang, say hello to her!”

With Old Tang’s obvious intentions, how could Tang Qing and Chiang Xiao not understand?

Tang Qing’s face immediately turned slightly red; with his normal personality, he would be too shy to even look at Chiang Xiao at this time. But now that the Tang Family depended on him, Tang Qing was also trying hard to change his introverted and shy nature and forced himself to look at Chiang Xiao.

”Xiao Chiang, hello, I’m Tang Qing.”

Chiang Xiao suppressed a laugh at his effort to overcome his shyness.

Old Tang still hadn’t given up this idea, it seems.

”Hello Tang Qing.”

Tang Qing took a breath of relief. Why did he inexplicably feel that Chiang Xiao had the aura of an older sister?

Grandpa would often mention her at home, reminiscing after every time he had tea snacks, saying that if he ever saw Chiang Xiao, he would surely like her, but now that he had seen her, although he did like her, it wasn’t in the way Grandpa described.

It felt just like the way Chiang Xiao had responded to him just now; he could hear the tolerance of an older sister toward her younger brother, a tone that warmed his heart instantly.

”Xiao Chiang, how come you’re in City J? Who was that just now?” Old Tang asked, holding onto her.

A year had passed, and Xiao Chiang had grown even more beautiful.

She was definitely the ideal granddaughter-in-law!

”He’s the father of a classmate, just sent me to the hotel, that’s all.”

”Have you eaten yet? Come on, let’s go have dinner, today Grandpa will treat you to something nice to eat!”

Tang Qing helplessly said, ”Grandpa, we’ve already made plans to visit Grandpa Bai.”
