Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 648: Chapter 649 The Only One Provoked

Chiang Xiao didn’t ask any further, anyway, she felt that her only interaction with the Alliance Officer’s Wife was that one time in Peace Town.

”By the way, did you say Chu Liang is looking for work?” Her eyes suddenly lit up.

She was looking for someone too!

After all, when the pastries are made, someone would need to help with sales and handle the transportation.

It definitely couldn’t rely on her maternal grandparents.

And her maternal great-uncle’s family didn’t have much confidence or interest in this business.

Chiang Xiao felt that she should still find someone.

Now hearing Meng Xinian mention Chu Liang, she thought he could be a very suitable candidate.

Upon hearing her say this, Meng Xinian also felt it was feasible; Chu Liang was honest and not stupid, and moreover, he was familiar and trustworthy.

The most important thing was that Chu Liang was about thirty or so and although still a bachelor, given his age, well, no matter how he acted around Chiang Xiaoxiao, he wouldn’t feel worried at all!

”Alright, I’ll talk to Chu Liang about it, and if he’s willing, I’ll bring him to you so you can have a proper talk,” Meng Xinian said.

Chiang Xiao sighed with relief.

She felt that although there had been some troubles these past few days, overall her own matters were still going smoothly.

That very afternoon, Meng Xinian brought Chu Liang over.

Chiang Xiao and her family were still renting the house in Osmanthus Alley of Peace Town from Chu Liang, so they still had a landlord-tenant relationship, but Chiang Xiao had also saved him back then, which made her his lifesaver.

Therefore, their meeting carried a rather strange feeling.

However, Chiang Xiao was quite satisfied with Chu Liang.

Even though Chu Liang felt she was young, he had already heard of her deeds and actually held a good deal of respect for her, and after talking for a few minutes, he decided to start working with Chiang Xiao.

Chiang Xiao was delighted because, in addition to needing someone to take over and follow up on the packaging box matter, the house she had just bought also needed someone to help manage and oversee the repairs.

She took Chu Liang to the house that same day.

Meng Xinian followed them.

Only then did he discover that Chiang Xiao had quietly done a big thing, having bought such a house in the city center.

”Brother Xinian, let me come clean about something first,” Chiang Xiao remembered she had borrowed his name before and wanted to broach the subject with him firsthand.

”What have you done that has wronged me?” Meng Xinian asked.

Chiang Xiao waved her hands, ”It’s not exactly wronging you, but before when I wanted to buy this house, my maternal grandparents just wouldn’t agree, so I told them that you knew about it, and that you also thought the house was good and even advised me to buy it.”

She winked at him and said, ”If the house goes down in value later or if it attracts any trouble, and they say anything to you, just cover for me a bit, will you?”

Cover for me a bit?

A spark flashed in Meng Xinian’s eyes, ”What trouble could the house possibly bring?”

Chiang Xiao then retold him the words Sister-in-law Zhang had said, ”Right, one of the troublesome people mentioned is that Second Yu Chunyu, Zhang Xiaomei, whom you attracted.”

Upon hearing her mention ”Second Yu Chunyu,” Meng Xinian’s head began to ache.

What does she mean by he attracted?

Was it his fault for being good-looking?

He had already tried his best not to attract women; the only one he did attract was not even a woman, but a little girl.

Meng Xinian felt quite saddened.

”Chu Liang!” he called out to Chu Liang, who was looking at the staircase.

”Yes!”

”If any woman comes to cause trouble in the future, just hit them! Say it was me who told you to! Don’t bother with any nonsense about not hitting women!” Meng Xinian instructed sternly, his face darkened.
