Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 624: Chapter 625 Hurry up and Sell

”Sister, what’s the matter?” Chiang Xiao frowned, ”I brought my grandparents here today to see the house. If they think there’s no problem, we can decide to buy it on the spot.”

”Uncle, Auntie, are you here?” Sister-in-law Zhang hurriedly greeted Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao, feeling a bit uneasy in her heart.

She had originally thought that Chiang Xiao must be some rich heiress, expecting the visitors to have an extraordinary presence, dignified and commanding elders, but she didn’t expect it to be such a simple-hearted elderly couple.

Simple-hearted like that, could they handle trouble?

Sister-in-law Zhang was very conflicted in her heart.

”If there is something wrong, just tell me directly, Sister.”

”Sigh, I’ll just tell you straight, it’s about that fool Zhang Dahai. Yesterday, Zhang Xiaomei came back to secretly ask him for money again, and Zhang Dahai let it slip. He told her we don’t have money right now and need to sell my old uncle’s house first before we can lend her any,” Sister-in-law Zhang was very angry, shifting her child to the other hand and continuing, ”Now it’s great, Zhang Xiaomei always thought the house couldn’t be sold, waiting to laugh at me. She even said she would move in after my mother-in-law comes back, demanding me to give her the keys! Now knowing that someone wants to buy the house, isn’t she anxious? She ran off yesterday afternoon, saying she’s going to get my mother-in-law back!”

”Little Sister, you have no idea how much trouble my mother-in-law can be! If she really starts making a fuss, I can’t handle it either! I dare to lay hands on Zhang Xiaomei but would never dare to do the same with my mother-in-law, after all, she is my husband’s mother. So I was thinking, we better sell the house today, otherwise, it’ll be too late.”

After hearing this, Chiang Xiao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

She thought Sister-in-law Zhang was really simple-hearted, spilling all the troubles about the house. Doesn’t she fear scaring away the buyer?

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao were indeed the kind of people who could be frightened off.

On the way over, Chiang Xiao had already briefly explained the situation with the house to them. Now that they heard about these troublesome issues, they immediately wanted to back out.

”Little, maybe we should just forget it?” Ge Liutao gently tugged at Chiang Xiao’s hem.

Chiang Songhai also nodded, looking at her.

If buying the house led to so many troubles, they would never have peace at home. If people kept coming to make a fuss, how could they live there?

It would be one thing if it was just for living, but Chiang Xiao had told them they planned to open a teahouse here.

The last thing a business needs is disputes and squabbles. If troublemakers came to cause problems, customers would be too scared to visit, and buying such an expensive house would then be a total loss.

Such an expensive house too.

Seeing their actions and expressions, Sister-in-law Zhang immediately grew anxious. Holding her child in one arm and the keys in another, she said, ”Uncle, Auntie, you can’t back out now, I was being honest and told you everything that’s going on! How about this, why don’t you come in and take a look at the house first? Come on in, come on in!”

Chiang Xiao also felt it would be a pity to just be scared off like that.

She had decided to look at the house again today to see if she still loved it as much as the day before. If so, it would mean the house’s ”energy” still matched hers.

As soon as the door opened, not just Chiang Xiao, but Ge Liutao too fell in love with the big courtyard.

She had heard that city people’s houses were small and most lived in apartment buildings, with seldom anyone having a yard. She had been wondering, without a yard, could living there be comfortable?
