Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 577: Chapter 578: Really Disgusted (Alliance Leader +20)

Chiang Xiao felt that since she was already in it, she was bound to meet those people sooner or later, so she agreed after some thought.

”Then, I’ll arrange an appointment with Chairman Zheng for you first, how about tomorrow afternoon at three? We’ll all wait for you at the association. Another thing, are you planning to sell your ’Secluded Valley Fragrance’?”

”Sell it?”

”Yes,” Kuang Yun Xian sighed and smiled, ”A lot of people have taken an interest in that painting, and there have been quite a few offers already. The leaders of galleries we have partnerships with have also been pestering Chairman Zheng, but because we weren’t able to contact you earlier, everyone was at a loss.”

Chiang Xiao had not anticipated that so many people already wanted to buy her painting.

And the conversation between them was audible to Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao behind them. Both were a bit dumbfounded.

”Is it true that so many people want to buy Little’s painting?”

”Didn’t you hear? Of course, it’s true. Little’s paintings are just like the real thing, really beautiful,” Chiang Songhai said a bit proudly, ”These days, there are still many people with good taste.”

Meng Xinian’s lips curved slightly.

”Is that painting at the association now?”

”No,” Kuang Yun Xian said, ”The first, second, and third prize works have all been sent to the gallery for exhibition. This way, we can promote you more, as well as bring in some visitors for the gallery. After the news reports came out, the gallery’s foot traffic increased several times, and I heard that there were even people coming from other places to see the paintings.”

Spurred by his words, Chiang Xiao also wanted to visit the gallery and asked for the address. Kuang Yun Xian was prepared and handed over a beautifully designed business card.

”This is the business card of the gallery leader. If you’re going there, you can contact him if you have any issues.”

Chiang Xiao nodded and took the business card.

Next was the discussion about the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’.

Indeed, Chiang Xiao had already guessed that the additional prize money was because of the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’, but when Kuang Yun Xian spread out the patched-together ’Autumn Scenery Painting’ in front of her, Chiang Xiao took one look and didn’t want to see it anymore.

At first glance, it appeared to be the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’, but in reality, it was far from it.

Seeing her undisguised expression of disdain, Kuang Yun Xian couldn’t help but laugh. ”What, do you find it unbearable to look at?”

Chiang Xiao candidly nodded, ”How is this the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’? However, I actually already knew about it and there’s no need for you to issue the extra prize money to me.” She hadn’t planned on pursuing it for the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’ anyway.

”No worries, you take it. The association made a mistake and should take responsibility. Besides, the association is actually getting the better end of the deal; after all, a few hundred bucks can’t compare to the value of a copy of the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’. As long as you don’t hold the association to account for not keeping their word, that’s fine. Now, if we really had to produce the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’, we truly would have no means to do so.”

Moved by his words, Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but ask, ”Brother Kuang, I want to ask, how much would a copy of the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’ be worth on the market now?”

Kuang Yun Xian was taken aback by her question, apparently not accustomed to directly associating such a famous painting with money, as a copy of the ’Autumn Scenery Painting’ had already reached a high level of artistry, carrying a significance far beyond mere financial value.

Like the painter from before who, being unknown, simply donated it to a school.
