Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 480: Chapter 481: What If It Could Be Revived?

However, the idea that Chiang Xiao put forward had indeed stirred the Huo family father and son; this way, they had no risk of losing money on the tea cake business. Instead, they gained a partnership in tea powder and, moreover, the honey business with the in-laws was also promising. For them, this was a sure win.

Aunt Ah Yu also thought it was very good. Yet, she was still somewhat uneasy, ”I can only make a few kinds of tea cakes; these are all self-taught. If your grandmother wants to learn, I’d be glad to teach her without any charge. Moreover, Miss Xiao Chiang, you really should think it over carefully. If I do this, the tea powder and honey are from my own supply, which means they’re my capital. But if you’re sourcing goods...”

She didn’t finish her sentence and glanced at her father-in-law and husband.

Chiang Xiao, however, had already understood her meaning and couldn’t help but appreciate Aunt Ah Yu’s frankness and integrity.

Her meaning was clear: she was using her own products, naturally making the costs a bit cheaper. But if Chiang Xiao were to buy goods from them later on, the Huo family would need to make a profit, and the cost of tea powder and honey would increase. The tea cakes she made, which cost Four Yuan each, would probably not be enough; they might need to be sold for Five Yuan each.

My goodness.

Tea cakes for Five Yuan each, who would be willing to buy? Who could afford them?

Chiang Xiao understood her point but did not back down.

She had eaten the tea cakes for quite some time already, yet the sweet taste still lingered in her mouth. This was definitely high-quality tea powder and honey, and the crafting technique was also quite clever.

If this could provide a job for her grandparents, her grandfather wouldn’t need to go up the mountain anymore, which wasn’t a sustainable plan.

Uncle Five and the others could join in if they were willing.

Chiang Xiao now had a strong sense of initiative; whatever she thought of, she acted upon.

Hesitation never accomplishes anything, does it?

Moreover, she had faith in the skills of her grandparents.

If possible, when the time came for them to move to the city, after all, such expensive tea cakes couldn’t sell in Peace Town, but they would absolutely sell in the city.

However, before that, she needed to go back during the summer vacation to help earn more money, for the tuition fee to learn how to make tea cakes, for purchasing tea powder and honey, and also, she needed to think carefully about packaging.

Thinking of all this, Chiang Xiao immediately felt invigorated, almost wishing she could get started right away.

”I understand, Aunt Ah Yu. As long as you’re willing to teach, I’m definitely going to pay for the tuition. And regarding the tea powder and honey, I’ll certainly source it from your family when the time comes,” Chiang Xiao said.

The Huo family was very decent, she could tell. Working with such people was reassuring.

Aunt Ah Yu fidgeted with her clothes, a mix of joy and nervousness in her voice, ”Well, then it’s settled. Just think it over and whenever you want to bring your grandparents, it’s fine. They can stay with us; we have plenty of room. I’ll teach them well.”

Hu Xibing hadn’t expected that by bringing Chiang Xiao on this trip, before even settling his own tea business, Chiang Xiao had already found a business opportunity and finalized a deal.

Feeling spurred by this, he quickly went with Uncle Huo to sign a supply contract.

Old Jia and Old Wen, with the intention of giving Uncle Huo a hand, also bought a considerable amount of tea that visit. They couldn’t stay still any longer, eager to descend the mountain and set up their goods.

After they had left, Chiang Xiao pondered for a moment, then spoke to Uncle Huo, ”Uncle Huo, if I find a way to revive the Ancient Tea Tree...”

She had only spoken half a sentence when the Huo family father and son stood up as one, their expressions a match of excitement and astonishment as they exclaimed, ”What did you say?”
