Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Where Did the Ghost Come From

When it came to Meng Xinian, nobody really doubted anymore.

And they all knew that Meng Xinian had written four letters to Little, so it was possible that he wrote about some food she had never eaten before.

Liu Pei asked again, ”Then how do you cook it? With white sugar? Wouldn’t that be too costly, how expensive would you have to sell it?”

All Chiang Xiao could say was, ”You probably don’t need too much sugar, but frying chestnuts is a novelty here after all. How could we sell them too cheaply?”

The first batch, yes.

”Does Little know how to fry them?”

Xu Linjiang took over the conversation, ”I sort of know a few things, I saw some people selling them, I bought half a pound for Xiao Tong, and asked a few questions.”

Chiang Xiao breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that Xu Linjiang knew, although he might not know very clearly, but experimenting a bit should definitely work out,

Liu Pei asked again, ”How will we sell them? We don’t have a shop, should we set up a street stall?”

Chiang Xiao shook her head, ”We are making food, setting up on the ground looks unhygienic, of course that won’t do.” She paused, not daring to directly say it, fearing they would ask her how she knew so clearly, so she turned to Xu Linjiang again, asking, ”Uncle, how did you see others selling it?”

Luckily, Xu Linjiang didn’t disappoint her, ”Get someone to make a small cart, put a coal stove on it, and a scoop pan, fry while selling, steaming hot, and fragrant. Chestnuts are best eaten hot.”

”Right, that’s a good idea!” Chiang Xiao immediately clapped her hands, ”Then we won’t even need to rent a shop at first, just push a little cart on the street corner to sell, and after earning some money, we can rent a shop!”

”Will it work?”

”Of course it will, otherwise let’s try it tomorrow and see.”

Chiang Xiao believed that once the chestnuts were fried up, they would taste them and become confident.

However, the very next day early in the morning, she still returned to Siyang Village with Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao, since she still had school to attend.

And it really did rain that day.

It wasn’t until she went to school the next day that Chiang Xiao found out the village was once again abuzz with rumors.

When Ding Dani saw her come to school, she was really surprised, and the other students also stared at her dumbfoundedly.

Chiang Xiao felt puzzled, not knowing what had happened at first, until recess when Sun Xiaoxing asked her, ”Chiang Xiao, you went up Bai Gu Mountain again yesterday, right?”

”Yes.”

Ever since Sun Xiaoxing’s Second Sister-in-law, Hong Tao, had caused such a scene at her house, Chiang Xiao no longer had the desire to be close to her primary school classmate, Sun Xiaoxing.

After all, she was just a child, and Chiang Xiao didn’t hold Hong Tao’s actions against Sun Xiaoxing, so they still talked occasionally.

Sun Xiaoxing sized her up with a curious look, ”Didn’t you encounter anything terrifying?”

”What terrifying thing?” Chiang Xiao was utterly bewildered.

”You know... ghosts,” Sun Xiaoxing said, clearly still very curious.

”What ghosts?”

”Don’t you know? Old Li from the grocery store and Wan Niu and Sun Laoliu all got hurt yesterday! And, I heard they were scared out of their wits!”

The classmates immediately joined in, whispering mysteriously, ”Not just scared out their wits; I heard their souls were frightened away! Old Li keeps saying he needs to invite a Fairy to drive away the evil spirits.”

Chiang Xiao was stunned for a moment.

No way?

Could a big snake really have scared them three that much?

But it didn’t sound right. Being scared of a big snake was one thing, but what did that have to do with exorcising spirits?

It wasn’t until she asked for more details that she found out Old Li and the others actually claimed to have seen a ghost dressed in white! It flashed through the woods, really fast, almost like it could fly!
