Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 316: Chapter 316: This is the meat he bought (asking for monthly tickets)

Chiang Lidong, that rambunctious child, she never liked, and Chiang Caijiao, whether in her past life or now, always seemed to have a very low presence.

Chiang Xiao was not someone who liked children very much, mainly because when she was a child, almost none of the children in the village refrained from cursing her alongside their parents.

Before she turned ten, those children would follow her and call her a ”fatherless little wretch,” some would even throw stones at her, others would pull her hair, scare her with bugs, and curse her mother as a fox spirit who only knew how to strip, having run off with some wild man, and all sorts of various bullying tactics were used against her.

Hence, Chiang Xiao never found children to be cute or adorable.

As for Chiang Caijiao and Chiang Lidong, she naturally couldn’t bring herself to like them, either.

However, now as a thirty-year-old adult at heart, she couldn’t truly resort to violence against the two children who were only asking for food.

Chiang Xiao’s eyes quickly darted around.

”Want to mooch off some food? That’s not impossible.” She walked over, picked up a large bunch of cabbages, and headed towards Ge Liutao.

The cabbage had been brought by Shi Zhuang’s mother last night after Honest Shi and Shi Zhuang helped build a wall and had a meal with several dishes containing meat. They had also enjoyed a feast during yesterday’s engagement banquet, where Ge Liutao had invited Hu Molan and Xiang Mingying to join the meal, and they had left with a handful of candies.

So Hu Molan had cut some cabbages from her own field and sent them over last night.

”Grandma, chop up some cabbage filling for them.”

Chiang Lidong immediately cried out, ”I want to eat meat! I want to eat meat with stuffing!”

”Why chop up more cabbage when we already have pre-mixed stuffing?” Song Xiyun also darkened her face. Cabbage pork stuffing, she was drooling just thinking about it, especially since it seemed to have rendered pork fat mixed in, promising a bite filled with both the meat’s fragrance and the cabbage’s sweetness, and it would be greasy!

Song Xiyun couldn’t help swallowing her saliva.

Why should she eat just cabbage?

”That’s what we’re going to eat ourselves. There’s not much, only enough to make twenty. If you want to eat, you can only have cabbage filling. Take it or leave it, don’t like it, get out,” Chiang Xiao said as she carried the basin of cabbage and pork filling into the main room.

Ge Liutao was busy washing cabbages.

”The cabbage alone is delicious too, it’s good.”

Chiang Lidong immediately twisted his body and cried out, ”Cabbage isn’t tasty! I want the ones with meat! I don’t care, make those with meat for me and you all can eat the cabbage ones!”

At six years old, the child expressed himself very clearly, but from the start, it was evident that he had been spoiled and taught wrongly, turning out just like his mother, both greedy and selfish.

Chiang Xiao couldn’t be bothered with him.

After washing her hands, she started wrapping dumplings.

The dough had been prepared earlier that morning. Although her rolling of the dough wasn’t very skilled, she managed. Seeing that her son had caused such a fuss yet failed to garner an extra glance from Chiang Xiao, Song Xiyun cursed the heartless girl under her breath and muttered, ”Then just chop up the cabbage and mix it with the original stuffing. The meat might be less, but at least there’s meat in there.”

She thought this compromise was the most she could offer.

Chiang Caijiao also looked eagerly at Ge Liutao.

Chiang Lidong often got special treats, but she never had any. Chiang Lidong was the Old Chiang Family’s treasured grandson, whereas she was just a granddaughter—their treatment was not the same. She craved meat even more than her brother did.

Ge Liutao was usually quite soft-hearted, who in the past would have surely agreed, but now she was somewhat reluctant.

If they added more cabbage, the little bit of minced meat would be spread even thinner, and her Little would hardly get any at all. The meat was, after all, bought by Meng Xinian.
